Welcome to the first publication of *Tool of the Week*
This week I bring you the best of the best, the trend and one of the apps that have been of great help for me. SLACK.
What is Slack?
Imaging that you're working with your colleagues and you need to send them an email with a PDF, audio file, video file, doc, etc... And you go to your computer to do that, and while you're logging in, everyone in the company already received the information. Cool, isn't it? That is what Slack does. A messaging app for teams that started out as a tool to communicate with everyone inside the same organization and it is killing emails.
Now, Slack is used by people that just have common interests. Sports, Business, Books, Startups, Fashion... Basically whatever you want. If the channel doesn't exist, you can create it yourself.
This is a group I'm part of. We share all kinds of things about entrepreneurship, startups and everything related to these topics. I actually named the blog with the help from the community we have there. We were brainstorming for almost an hour and someone said LaunchUp and I liked it.
You can see in the picture on the right side, how we share our ideas. I can say that I have new friends from that community and I feel part of something bigger.
Something really cool about Slack, is Slalert. This feature takes you out of your inbox and into Slack. You can stop receiving notifications on your mail inbox and start receiving them through the App.
Teamtime.zone also lets you know where in the world, your team is.
Something I really love about the app is that it's multi-platform. I have it open in my computer and in my mobile device as well and it is so easy to use.
